Why do multicellular organisms need mass transport systems?

Multicellular organisms are composed of many cells.
Unicellular organisms are composed of only on cell.

All cells need energy for processes to sustain life.

Cells can obtain this energy from a process known as aerobic respiration

Aerobic means with air

The raw materials for aerobic respiration are :
1) Oxygen.
2) Glucose
The body needs to assure that all cells obtain the raw materials needed for aerobic respiration so that they can obtain the required energy to sustain life.

In single-celled organisms, materials diffuse directly into the cell across the cell membrane (since it's only one cell this is relatively quick and easy).

In multicellular organisms, diffusion happening in such a way would be way too slow because of the large distance the substances have to travel to reach every single cell

This is the reason why multicellular organisms have mass transport systems.
